Booked Up 2010 De La Salle High School is taking part in the Northern Ireland Booked Up Pilot along with 68 other schools in the region. Booked Up is run by Booktrust, an independent charity dedicated to encouraging people of all ages and cultures to engage with books.
Booked Up is a national programme which is entering its fourth year in England and has given a free book to nearly two million children in their first term in secondary school.
Pictured here are Eamon O’Hare, Christopher Curran and Ronan Holland of Year Eight receiving their book of choice from a collection of over twenty titles, ranging from non-fiction to poetry. Pupils will have the opportunity to express their views of their books on line (www.bookedup.org.uk) as well as swapping titles and get totally Booked Up!
