Digital Storytelling 2005 and 2006 in association with Studio On:
Year Nine pupils had a unique opportunity to work on creating their own movie with the help of an animator. The film was made using a technique known as pixilation, which involved pupils using a digital stills camera and a little imagination. Pupils worked right through the whole production process, from storyboarding and creating characters, to scriptwriting and shooting the actual film.
Our first film was short listed in the Cinemagic Young Filmmakers Awards 2005. We had the honour of having our film shown in The Warner Village Cinema and we even held our own Oscars Award Ceremony to recognise the efforts and achievements of all pupils involved.
Our second film, We Know What You Did Last Term, was screened at the annual Cinemagic Young Filmmakers Awards at QFT in Belfast along with the eight other finalists from around the U.K. Although we did not receive first prize our film came highly commended and it was a real treat for all involved to see our work on the big screen.
